    Summary: The editors of this anthology have presented a picture of "American" Aikido. After a lengthy introduction, thirteen Sensei (three of them women) tell their own stories, each prefaced with some background material on that sensei. The senseis are presented in three sections: The Disciples, The Teachers, and The Innovators. The book concludes with a brief epilog, guidance on how to contact the senseis represented in the book, a suggested reading list, and a glossary of terms.
