Teaches Japanese Military strategy and function in order to defeat potential attackers in the shortest possible time by utilizing the body’s inherent anatomical weaknesses. In many cases, this entails creating unbearable pain, imbalances and causing dysfunction in a person by attacking nerve meridians and disrupting the normal operation of their body. This may result in acute pain, numbness, disorientation and shortness of breath, labored breathing, intestinal cramps, and paralysis through use of tsubos (pressure points). An adversary is thereby weakened enough that they will cease aggression before serious damage is done to them. Therefore, this style is considered humanitarian, and sought after by law enforcement and security professionals worldwide when it is important that there be no lasting injury to the attacker. The three main tenets of the art are (1) No Challenge, (2) No Resistance, (3) No Injury. In this style, there are no competitions, no tournaments and no trophies awarded since the overriding main concern is with self-defense and not sport or simply engaging in martial arts calisthenics. Elements which are stressed are: Relaxation, Effortlessness, Control, Balance, Practicality and Maximum Result with Minimal Effort. This allows the practitioner to apply the art throughout their entire lifetime without having to rely on strength and stamina which generally declines with age.
Considered to be the highest form of self-defense as practiced by the Samurai of ancient Japan.
