SAGAWA, YUKIYOSHI

(1902-24 March 1998). Born in Yubetsu, Hokkaido. Began study of DAITO-RYU JUJUTSU under Sokaku TAKEDA in 1914 after earlier learning from his father. Received KYOJU DAIRI or teaching certification from Takeda on August 24, 1932 in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Sagawa accompanied Takeda as an assistant instructing in various parts of Japan during the 1930s. Operated a small dojo attached to his home in Kodaira, a suburb of Tokyo, until his death. Interviewed in AN#74. See Pictorial p. 93.
