VENERI, GIORGIO

(25 February 1937-30 March 2005). Early Italian practitioner who first trained aikido under Motokage KAWAMUKAI in 1964. Instrumental in establishing Hiroshi TADA as an instructor in Italy. Elected president of the EUROPEAN AIKIDO FEDERATION in 1978. Second president of the INTERNATIONAL AIKIDO FEDERATION in 1982-1994. Later member of the Superior Council of the IAF.
