SATO, ANDREW M.

(b. 1950). 6th dan Aikikai. B. Evanston, Illinois. Started Ki Aikido under Fumio TOYODA in 1977, following Toyoda as the AAA/AAI realigned under the Aikikai Hombu dojo. For a brief period, was chief instructor of the AAA/AAI and awarded 6th dan by Yasuo KOBAYASHI after the passing of Toyoda. Departing the AAA/AAI at the end of 2004, was instrumental in forming the Aikido World Alliance (AWA) in 2005. This organization is aligned with the AIKIKAI HOMBU DOJO and adheres to its policies.
